100% of membership goal Award to Post 0471

100% of membership goal Award to Post 0471

Special announcement.

Hello everyone. Recently I received a letter and a certificate from the national commander. These were sent to me in recognition of our membership reports.

We were recognized in 2021 for maintaining over 90% of our membership and then again in 2022 for achieving 100% of membership goals set forth by national.

Although the commander gets the certificate and recognition, I by no means take all the credit. To achieve a goal such as this, it takes a combined effort by everyone who enjoys the Legion, and what the legion represents. So besides sharing this information with you, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who contribute to The Legion every day in someway, because it’s those little things that are done for events , tournaments, as well as socializing, that catches the attention of others and encourages them to become members themselves.

We should all be proud of knowing that the Charles B Yerger American legion, Post 471, made it to the desk of the national commander who sends us all his congratulations for the Legion‘s achievement. Which in Itself, has
has been a long time coming .

Therefore ,
On behalf of myself and the entire board of directors of Post 471 Thank you. Let the journey continue !!

Regards,
Valentine Bartchak. Commander, Post 471

Veteran's Day Nov 11

Veteran's Day Nov 11

Attention Veterans !! The American Legion will be open at 10 am on Veterans Day !
They will have specials all day and Mel’s Famous Ham and Bean homemade soup !! Stop in and God Blessing !
This day is a Time to remember all our Veterans who have served.
Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day, we stand united in respect for you, our veterans.
This holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country's service and was originally called Armistice Day. It fell on Nov. 11 because that is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. However, in 1954, the holiday was changed to "Veterans Day" in order to account for all veterans in all wars.
We celebrate and honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
So please take time on this day to say Thank you to any Veterans you know!
For God and Country!
